YKF Karate – Terms, Conduct, and Communication Policy


1. Purpose of This Policy

At YKF Karate, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all students, families, and instructors. This policy outlines expectations for conduct, communication, and participation in our program.


2. Professional Conduct Expectations

All students, parents, and guardians agree to:

  • Treat instructors, staff, and other students with respect at all times
  • Maintain appropriate dress and behavior during classes, events, and communication (clothing must be appropriate for under 18 attire)
  • Support a positive and encouraging training environment

YKF Karate reserves the right to determine what constitutes inappropriate or disruptive behavior.

 

3. Communication Policy

To ensure clarity, safety, and professionalism:

  • All concerns, complaints, or questions regarding instructors, staff, or program operations must be brought directly to YKF Karate management immediately
  • Communication should be handled through official channels (phone, email, or in person)

This allows us to properly address and resolve issues in a timely and responsible manner.

 

4. Zero Tolerance for Harmful Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Spreading false, misleading, or unverified claims about YKF Karate, its instructors, or its students
  • Engaging in gossip, slander, or reputational harm (including in person, online, or via third parties)
  • Creating or participating in unnecessary outside conflict or drama involving the program

Any concerns involving serious matters must be reported directly to YKF Karate so they can be handled appropriately.

 

5. Social Media & Public Representation

Students and families agree:

  • Not to post or share harmful, defamatory, or misleading content about YKF Karate, its staff, or members

To avoid public commentary that could negatively impact the reputation of the program without first addressing concerns privately

 

6. Disciplinary Action & Dismissal

YKF Karate maintains the right to:

  • Issue warnings for inappropriate behavior
  • Suspend or remove individuals from the program at our discretion
  • Immediate dismissal may occur in cases involving:
  • Defamation, slander, or reputational harm
  • Harassment or inappropriate conduct toward staff or students
  • Failure to follow communication policies

All decisions regarding dismissal are final and made in the best interest of the program and its members.

 

7. Commitment to Safety & Integrity

YKF Karate is dedicated to maintaining:

  • A safe environment for all students
  • Professional standards among instructors and staff
  • Open, direct, and respectful communication

We take all concerns seriously and will address them with discretion and care when brought to us properly.

 

8. Photography & Media Consent

By participating in YKF Karate programs, parents and guardians acknowledge and agree that:

  • Implied Consent: YKF Karate may take photographs or video recordings of classes, events, and training for promotional, educational, or social media purposes.
  • Opt-Out Requirement: If you do not wish for your child to be photographed or filmed, you must inform YKF Karate instructors or management in writing prior to the start of participation.
  • Otherwise: Unless a written opt-out is received, consent is considered granted for the use of such media in official program materials.

9. Agreement

By participating in YKF Karate programs, all students and guardians acknowledge and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
