At YKF we have full confidence in every student, starting strong with realistic and positive expectations set for every new student that has the courage to step into class with us.
New students do not have to have a uniform, but make sure that you have something that you can move comfortably in, and we do not allow gum or jewelry while working out.
We strive to keep things as safe as possible, but as the discipline does revolve around learning self defense and sparring, there are always risks involved.
All students must bow when entering / leaving class to teach respect and discipline.
At all times it is expected for students to have a respectful attitude towards the instructor and other teachers or higher ranks present, as well as their fellow students. But this also extends to anyone in the area, including other parents or visitors who may be watching.
Always remember that everyone is always learning and Karate is a process. You can’t be a master of something in one class and it takes a lot of practice and repetition to become great, but we strive for excellence every class!
